The Latin Church in the United States is growing, transforming, and occupying an increasingly strategic place in the global Christian landscape. However, as its influence continues to expand, important questions also arise:

• How do we understand the identity of the Latino Church in the U.S. today?

• What challenges and opportunities does this generation face?

• How are the new generations responding to the missionary call?

• And what is necessary to see the Latino Church fully engaged in God's mission among the nations?

 

The COMIBAM USA 2026 Consultation is born out of a desire to create a space for reflection, dialogue, and collaboration centered on these questions. Over the course of three days, we will gather leaders, mobilizers, experts, pastors, mission agencies, and educational institutions to listen, learn, and discern together the historic moment in which we are living.

Through presentations, strategic conversations, and interaction among various stakeholders within the missions movement, we will explore the current landscape of the Latin Church in the United States—its history, cultural identity, ministry challenges, emerging trends, and the perspectives of new generations. The goal is to understand how all of this impacts the Latin Church’s participation in global mission today.

We believe that this is a time to reimagine relationships, models, and strategies. It is a time for leaders, agencies, and institutions to learn how to walk alongside the Latin Church in a manner that is more contextual, relational, and intentional—recognizing where it stands today and accompanying it toward the potential God has given it to impact the nations.

Our prayer is that this consultation will serve to:

• Strengthen the missionary vision of the Latino Church in the U.S.

• Foster honest and strategic conversations regarding the future of missionary mobilization.

• Inspire a new generation committed to God's mission.

• Forge alliances among churches, agencies, and educational institutions.

• Identify concrete opportunities to reach the least-reached peoples.

• Drive more active participation by the Latino Church in global mission.
